Lead Balloon
Lead Balloon is a television series produced by Open Mike Productions for BBC Four. The series was made and can be co-written by comedian Jack Dee and Pete Sinclair. It celebrities Dee as Rick Spleen. Sean Power raquel Cassidy and Tony Gardner celebrity. The first set of six episodes was broadcast on BBC Four in 2006, with the first episode achieving the best ratings for a comedy on the channel. Repeats of this series were run using BBC 2 and BBC HD, bringing it to a larger audience. A second collection of eight episodes aired on BBC 2 in November 2007, and a third series started broadcasting in November 2008. A series commenced stopped on 5 July and broadcast on BBC 2 May 2011 on 31.
Comparisons were produced by critics to the American comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm that was successful, and comments were made about the characters, particularly Magda, the eastern-European housekeeper of Lead Balloon. The first series was released on DVD at November 2007. The show's theme tune is actually a cover version of"One Way Road", written by Noel Gallagher and conducted with Paul Weller.
