Fighting For The Motherland 1162
Wanyan Liang, emperor of the Jurchen Jin Dynasty, hatched a plot to attack the Southern Song Dynasty in the year 1161. The people who lived in the Central Plain had a difficult time making a living because of the stringent recruitment policy and the harshness of the Jin. Xin Qiji, then 21 years old, began a rebellion against the Jin army alongside other peasants. Later, he joined a more powerful voluntary army led by Geng Jing and won victory after victory with them. In the year 1162, Xin Qiji traveled to the south in an effort to convince the Song Emperor to remove the Jurchens from the north in order to expel invaders and regain territories that had been lost during the process of reunifying the country. After successfully completing his assignment, Xin Qiji discovered that the leader Geng Jing had been murdered by a traitor and that the army's morale had significantly declined. What strategy would Xin Qiji and his 50 most trusted subordinates employ if they were confronted by Wanyan Basu's army of 50,000 soldiers?
