Oleg is a bright young paramedic. Katya, his wife, works as a nurse in the hospital's emergency room. She adores Oleg, but is fed up with him prioritizing patients over her. She informs him that she wishes to divorce. The new head of Oleg's EMA department is a cold-hearted manager with strict new rules to implement. Oleg doesn't care about the rules –he's got lives to save–and his attitude gets him in trouble with the new boss. The work crisis coincides with the personal life crisis. Caught between their patients, alcohol-fueled off-shifts, and an evolving health-care system, Oleg and Katya must find the unifying force that will keep them together.
