Soap

Soap is an American sitcom that originally ran on ABC from 1977. The show was created as a night-time parody of daytime soap operas, presented as a weekly prime period comedy. The series's narrative comprised melodramatic plot elements such as demonic possession alien abduction, murder, and kidnapping and was presented in a serial format. Back in 2007 it had been recorded among Time magazine"100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME," and in 2010, the Tates and the Campbells ranked at number 17 in TV Guide's list of"TV's Top Families". The show was made, written, and executive produced by Susan Harris, and executive produced by Paul Junger Witt and Tony Thomas. A retrospective of the season preceded each season. A few of those retrospectives were made available on VHS. 85 episodes aired . The final four episodes of the series aired as episodes during the first run on ABC. These hourlong episodes were split in two, producing 93 episodes. All episodes are currently available on region 1 DVD in four vessel collections. The series contains re run on cable in addition to on syndicated channels on TV Land and Comedy Central. It conducted on Antenna TV television, before December 30th, 2012.
