The North Star

The North Star is the story of Benjamin"Big Ben" Jones and Moses Hopkins, two brothers who escaped from the Virginia plantation and made their way to freedom from Buckingham, Pennsylvania at 1849. Big Ben's 6 foot 10 inch size and a record bounty for his safe return allow him that the focus of every servant hunter onto the coast. Their travel exposes them to danger and cruelty. Nevertheless it also exposes them to the charm of those people involved from the Underground Railroad. Moses and Ben will change forever. Upon reaching the relative safety of Mt. Gilead Church on Buckingham Mountain, Ben and Moses get to experience life as Freemen and cross paths with historic figures such as Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Joshua and Jonathan Fell.
