The Kids Menu

THE KIDS MENU is a feature documentary from the same team that brought you "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead." As filmmaker Joe Cross traveled the world with his previous two films, he met hundreds of people, and one issue that came up time and time again was what to do about the growing epidemic of childhood obesity in our country. THE KIDS MENU follows Joe's conversations with specialists, parents, teachers, and children, during which he comes to the conclusion that juvenile obesity is not the root of the problem, but rather is only a symptom of a larger one. The lack of information about what constitutes healthy foods. There is a scarcity of healthy and economical solutions. In addition, the power of bad role models, whether they are parents, teachers, or even celebrities, cannot be underestimated. All of this appears to be a significant obstacle to overcome, but when given the opportunity, children frequently make the unexpected decision to choose a healthier route.
