It was Leonora Eames' youth dream become a reality. She had wed Smith Ohlrig, a man worth millions. But her dream turned into a nightmare once she understands the truth about her husband he is power angry and mad! Since he will not give her divorce, she proceeds to work as a secretary in the office at NYC's lower west side of an impoverished doctor and leaves her life of luxury. Leonora becomes pregnant after Smith deceives her into a reconciliation. By now she realizes she is expecting, she and one of those doctors, Larry Quinada (James Mason), have fallen inlove. But she is again enticed backed to provide her child security. Her husband is hell bent on keeping her and her child prisoner. What will occur to Leonora?
